Airstream Song by Miranda Lambert

When I was younger up until the last few years, whenever the weather would warm up, I would say I got gypsy fever and would have the urge to travel and go on adventures, even if they were day trips to somewhere new.
I loved the idea of breaking up my daily schedule and coming up with somewhere to go that I'd never been before. Back before GPS I'd pick a place on the map and back track from it to where I lived and then just go. I used to grab my sister and we'd just head off to wherever it was and see what else we could find along the way. In later years my sidekick was my son and we would just go wherever the wind would take us.
A friend of mine said that I reminded him of this song and it's been a favorite ever since I first heard it. It's number three on my play list because it fits nicely with "I Wish I Was the Moon"'s theme.

Sometimes I wish I could let go of some of my fears and just live a gypsy lifestyle. Just roam around the US from state to state and town to town until I find a place I feel like I fit in and can call home. It is a plan I have for one day, but not for now. I'm in a place right now where I enjoy having a solid home base and cozy things that are familiar to me surrounding me.

That doesn't mean I don't like packing my bags from time to time to go on a day trip adventure or possibly a weekend escape from my everyday routine and just relax and be somewhere new and explore different areas.
Do you ever get gypsy fever? Do you ever find the need to escape and you need a little more than a good book or movie to do it? Where are some places you go our would like to go? Do you have a "go to" place to escape to or do you always go somewhere new?
