Road Tripping with Anxiety

I successfully made it to Florida, anxiety issues and all.

A stop at the Georgia Welcome Center found us with many photo ops. Forrest Gump was just sitting and waiting for someone to keep him company.

The Florida Welcome Center greets you with free orange or grapefruit juice. It's really rather nice. It was also at this point I realized a couple things. Like I had just traveled down half the country. I thought that was pretty neat.

The other things were I had finally made it to Florida after almost 30 years of trying to get here. I never went on my class trip here, we moved to a new school before senior year and I wanted to come for a family vacation once in my 20's but it didn't pan out but finally in my 40's I made it.
I also wanted to stop in every state and take my picture with their welcome sign, I'm hoping this is one of many I'll be able to do. I checked two things off my bucket list in one weekend! How cool is that!

You really don't think about the fact that Florida has a lot of water when you plan the trip, nor did you realize their welcome sign is actually this suspension bridge.
Those of us with Anxiety issues are probably already feeling it looking at the picture I took going over it. As soon as I saw it I got sweaty palms and had to try to stay calm. My friend who was driving also has anxiety so the both of us did not enjoy crossing the bridge and still have to go back over on the way home. My jaw still clenches just thinking about it.

The hotel was beautiful. It's a Sheraton and my friend used an app to get the room for $110 for the night. Send me an email if you want the app name Botank@charter.net.

Because of the storm that met us at the bridge we weren't able to get to the beach yesterday but are going to try to go this morning. The storm also dropped the temperature to 77 degrees which made it feel like it was freezing since we just left NC with it's 106 heat index. I actually didn't pack one warm thing to wear (totally unlike me) but I thought it's Florida in summer it will be warm. Wrong! We were both freezing and had to make a Target run and try to find something warm to wear.

Here's to better luck today with getting to the beach ! Have you ever planned a trip and had to roll with the changes once you got there? How did it turn out? Do you have a bucket list? What, if anything have you checked off it? How did it feel?
